Hi experts,
Why do we need the extended warehouse management to be implemented rather going with SAP WM? what scenarios in EWM make difference than WM.How do we determine that we need to implement sap EWM functionality? I am new to EWM.Please provide some info. I would need a simple logic or briefing on why implement eWM .
Thanks

Hi RK,
As per my understanding ,
EWM is Related to supply chain management which concerned with the optimisation of SCM of your company. Its scope is wide which also includes r/3 system . The Modules like TRM ,Transport module etc are included in this.
Whare as the WM is just related to R/3 only and has limited scope as compare to EWM.

-kitting is not possible -stock visibility on staging area not possible
Supports cross docking but transportation cross-docking is not supported
Doesnu2019t support service parts execution
Conventional method of physical inventory
EWM

-warehouse monitoring cockpit helps in monitoring in a sophisticated manner and can be done through different selection parameters.
Slotting and rearrangement is possible
ASN validation and correction is possible
