Editing relationships in Workflow

Hi All,

When a record is in a checked-out workflow, the Relationships are shown in Data Manager is non-editable.

I have a scenario where:

1. User enters data alongwith Relationships & that is sent for Approval.

2. Record is Checked out & workflow is launched

3. The Approver can edit the data & pass it ahead.

But Approver is not able to edit relationships because of the above issue.

We are using Portal for data entry & approvals.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ketan,

Observation-1:

When record is Checked-out, Relationship table becomes grayed-out hence you cannot modify the Relationships of the Checked-out record.

Observation-2:

Double click on Relationships created (which will open the Relationship window), now check-out the record. This will allow you to modify the Relationships and once you check-in you will get your Relationship table with modified entries.

This would be applicale if you are using the workflows. Now try to fit the observation-2 in your scenario which is dont think will work if you are using portal.

Hi Jitesh,

Found out an alternative which may work via Portal.

When you Unjoin Checkout.. everything except Relationship is disabled! So, when Approver needs to edit Relationships, we make him Unjoin the checkout workflow & then let him edit the relationships.
