Syndication is not happening automatically

Hi ALL,

We are facing problem regarding syndication.

We have used automatic ports and we have configured associate maps.

Syndication server and MDM servers are running and repositories are in loaded position.

What would be other points where we need to check to rectify this problem?

Hi M Narendra,

Please verify the Port name, type and remote system and also verify the MDSS.ini for the parameter settng to see if everything is okay. Which version of MDM are you using?

Thanks for valueable inputs.

Jitesh: Admin and PasswordE is already available in mdss.ini file. we have transported syndication maps and ports from testing to production system recently for syndication. It is working testing system but not working in production system.

and everything is transported perfectly.

should we change password again and restart the server?

Ketan: It is continuos basis and no log file was genetared so far.

If everything is configured correctly then many times restart of MDM Syndication server resolves the issue. So please try restarting the Syndication server.

If the issue is not resolved then paste the Syndication Logs.

I think if you've done a migration recently, you need to re-set the password in MDSS.ini and restart the server.

Hi Narendra,

Check whether you have assigned Admin password in MDSS.ini under your reopository section. To do so...

1. Navigate to your repository section

2. Remove "E" from the attribute PasswordE

3. Assign Admin password i.e. Password=xyz

4. Restart Syndication Server

5. Check the Password entry again. It should be changed to PasswordE=<some encrypted value>

Hi Narendra,

Pls chk for following settings:

1. Make a out bound port of type OUTBOUND.

2. Assign a remote system to the port.

3. Processing Type- Automatic.

4. Assign a syndication map to the port.

5. Processing type - Continuous.

6. Start Syndication server(MS02 fo MDM 7.1) in Services.msc.

7. Start auxillary syndication server in Console for 7.1 version.

8. Also check the login/PW for consistency in auxillary syndication server. it should save as repository login/PW. Set this again if login PW for repos has been changed.

This should make your Autosyndication work.

The Automatic port is scheduled for Daily or Continous syndication?

Also, are there any entries in the log for the file being generated?
