SLD Data Supplier in J2EE Visual Admin

Hi, we have 3 XI servers and one central SLD. After migrating two of the servers to unix, they wont appear in the SLD with their Java parts (and the IS dont show up in RWB/components).

In the J2EE Admin Visual Administrator - Cluster - Server - Services - SLD Data Supplier I get a failure in the status field for Send Result.

This is from the error message:

SLD_Collector_Task

2006.05.08@13:26:13: Data collection process started.

2006.05.08@13:26:13: Created list of data collecting classes.

2006.05.08@13:26:15: Sending data via HTTP.

2006.05.08@13:26:15: HTTP call failed: Broken pipe

2006.05.08@13:26:15: Collecting process ended.

As u can see, it fails when trying to send data via HTTP to the SLD. I mistake that this is the reason that the SLD dont "see" the java parts and IS. The settings for SLD host is pointing to the one and only SLD.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hello Rune,

are the migrated servers in the same network as they have been before? (Firewall settings)

When you start a browser on one of the unix servers, can you access the sld from there? (Service settings; sometimes services must be enabled on unix systems)

I guess you've migrated the xi systems, not the sld?

Rgds.,

Andreas

Hi, I can access the SLD for the unix servers and there should be no problems with the firewall settings. Maybe some http settings in the J2EE admin tool is not correct?

Rune,

Have u tested and verified the RFC connections that were made as part of the post installation steps. Maybe one of them is not functioning properly.

As mentioned, we will use one central SLD for the three xi servers. I now see that the two servers are sending the SLD data to the wrong SLDs. How do I configure the servers to send to the central SLD? RZ70 is ok, Exchange Profile is ok.

Have a look at note 720717 Reduce the number of System Landscape Directories.

I know you already have one SLD but this note gives you all info you need to know.
