Serial Number in Audit

Hello Friends.

We haven't implement serial number for Material, but for QM department, they want to input serial number when creating inspection lot. is it impossible to realize in SAP? Thanks!

By the way, we use inspection origin 89 to create insepction lot.

The following problem occurs:

If I maintain the serial No profile in material master data, QM Department's requiremnt is met, but MM department also must input serial no when posting GR for product order. Actually we don't want to implement serial NO for material.

Dear

Once the Material has maintained with serial number then it will ask serial number whenever you process the material.

It is virtually impossile to adhare such a requirement.

May be you can maintain some addition data in inspection lot or during result recording as a serial numbers.

This will avoid serial number during GR processing or later stages.

This is just a suggestion.
