Password Change from portal Change

Hi All

I have installed Webas JAVA as well as ABAP in same server. It is possible to create/change/delete user from transaction of R/3 side. I cannot create/change/delete user from portal page. Even user cannot change their respective passowrd from portal page. Altough passowrd change is also possible in R/3 side.

Is it possible to do user administration from portal page?

Hi Raktim

which datasource u used for UM (user management)configuration.

look at the UM setting from portal.

logon into portal->system administration->system configuration ->Um configuration. under datasource tab.

are u use sap system as datasource?

u used SAP System as datasource thaht's why u r not able to change the user configuration from PORTAL.

u have to done this in R3 side.

or change the data source according to note 718383

or look under help for datasource.

Does the service user for communication between the ABAP system and the UME have the role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION? This user has the default name SAPJSF_<SID>.

Once so configured, you can change the user from the portal.

Many many many thanks for ur answer. I have added the role to the serviceuser. Now user can change their password. But creating user and updating user data is still not possible from portal. Can u plz suggest next step.

u use dataSourceConfiguration_r3_rw.xml

which is used for Create, read, and modify users in the AS for ABAP system. And

You can create, read, and modify groups in the local Java database only.

what is the problem to changing data.

is the administrator user is mapped with R3 system

Hi Michael,

Sorry for late. I was not coming to office for long time.

Followings are the event I am facing in portal.

a)User is allowed to change password for first time when user logged in portal.

b)When password is reset by administrator using SU01 then user will again able to change password during login to password.

Other than these two cases user is getting error message "Could not reset password" in portal.

If administrator is trying to change password for any user it is getting same error.

During change of any other information like fisrt name of user error message is :

"Unknown message (ID = USERACCOUNT_UPDATE_FAILED)"
