barcode preview does not working

Hi all,

I am new in barcode and form printing. I am trying to output a barcode for testing it. I read about barcode that there were two method one 'old' (with special printers) and one 'new' (with smartforms): I am working with new one and smartforms. I followed some tutorials and help that tell me what I have to do is this:

1) create bardcode in SE73

2) create a style in SMARTSTYLES assigning my barcode in 'barcode area' of the 'Character Format'

3) use the style as output option for the values I want to be with barcode

But if I try it (with print preview), I can see the numeric values put to test, but not the barcode. Am I missing something necessary ? Also I am not an expert of barcode and I have a doubt; is possible that barcode does not work because the value I am assigning to it is wrong?

(for example I put as test value '0123456789' but barcode values need to be with length prefxed or follow a specific syntax)

solved ... I was not assigning correctly character format to barcode.
