Hello gurus

We are running SAP on WIN2K3 ,MAxdb ERP6 and we are facing a prooblem when configuring that transport system

We are setting up a 2 tier system .We have created the domain controller VGB(devhost) but now the problem comes up when we try to approve BGH(prdhost) into the transport domain. It comes up with the following error in TMS alert viewer:

RFC communications error with system/destination

TMSADM at VGB.DOMAIN_VGB

File
devhost\sapmnt\trans\bin\TPPARAM could not be opened for reading (No such file or directory)-------i can connect from prdhost at os level to the shared directory in devhost can read and write to usr\sap\trans

TMS_CI_CHANGE_CONFIGURATION

TMS_PS_READ_PROFILE_FROM_DISK -

READ_PROFILE_FAILED

We have done the following as we need to have a single transport directory on VBH

1.shared usr/sap/tarns on VBH (

2.gave access BGH to VGB host read/write access to usr/sap/trans

3.created a profie dir_trans
devhost\usr\sap\trans on BGH(prdhost)

so is there some where am getting it wrong? Any ideas are welcome

Did you check the trans directory parameters are same in both the system ? Did the both the systems have share permissions?

Check the RFC between both the system in SM59

Hi Tsungy,

Please check whether port 33xx is accessible from each of the server.xx is instance number.

Eg. if one of server is DEV with instance number 00 & other is PRD with instance number 01.then login on server dev & check the port 3301 of server PRD. Alos login on PRD & check port 3300 of server DEV.

33xx is for gateway.Due to closing of this port, we generally got RFC related error.
