Hello Experts,
I am facing a problem while performing system copy in the same
host of the source system.
Previously I created a system copy and then removed the system manually.
Now, I am doing the copy with a different SID with the same instance
no. as before. But it is not allowing me to do and automatically
creating a new instance no. for which I do not have a solution manager key.
I am seeing that , sapinst is getting the previous central instance
and SCS information. That means it is retrieving the previous CI and
SCS info from somewhere.
Can any one help me regarding how to delete the previous CI and SCS
information?
Please Help..
Anupam..
Dear Anupam,
Your statement is not very clear to me. Do you want to say that your target system and source system residing on same host? If this is then why do you need to remove the source system? Also How did you remove the source system manually or through SAPInst?
From your problem it seems you removed the instance manually. In that case make sure that you have removed everything from /usr/sap/SID, /sapmnt/SID and for SCS instance you need to comment out or remove the entry from /usr/sap/sapservices file.
Also please check the entries in /etc/services file for the new instance.
Regards
Gautam
