Hello Gurus,
I would like to know when and where inspection points can be used. I never used inspection points and not sure for what purpose this can be used.Already I gone thru the docs and could not get the clear picture and steps to process.
It would be great if you could anyone tell me an simple example for inspections points and how to use it in qm.
ANd also is there anything related to quality score ? whenever I did the UD ..I am seeing the quality score as 100.
as I am new to these concepts....pls explain me abt quality score steps and inspections points.
Akash.
Dear Akash
An example of the use of Inspection points are "Inspection During Production" (Insp. type 03). When 03 is activated tor a material, and the recipe is maintained accordingly, an Inspection lot is generated when the process order is released. In the inspection lot an Inspection Points is also generated. You then record inspection results for this inspection point. The inspection points contains an identifier, that could be time, or partial batch number. Immediately after you have saved the results, a new inspection point is generated. You can have as many inspection points you like, assigned to the inspection lot.
I hope this clearifies a little
Best regards
Jan Erik

DearPrakash
Quality score are maintained for quantitative valuation of the quality of inspection lots. Quality score can be evaluated for a material, vendor , Customer etcs
1) They have to be first maintained in the client level setting
SPRO > QM> Maintain settings at client level> You need to maintain the highest quality score (100) and lowest quality score (1) system doesnt take 0. also Lower limit for good quality (90)
2) it is maiinly used in the selected sets for usage decision
QS51/ 03 catalogs for each UD code you can give a Quality score. So while you are giving UD system picks up this score and update the same for inspection lot , material, vendor, customer as applicable.
You can give 100 as quality score for clean acceptance, 1 for complete rejection, may be 50 for partial acceptance, 1 for complete rejection etc.
You can check for the reports in the information system.MCXE, MCVE, MCOE
3) There are different quality score adoption procedure ( defined by SAP)
SPRO > QM>Quality Inspection > inspection lot completion >Define quality score procedure
Share of scrap in lot
Maximum share of scrap for chars
Minimum quality score for chars
Weighted from share of scrap for chars
Weighted from quality score of chars.
From usage decision code
You can choose anyone and can be customised for inspection types these is done in
SPRO > QM>Quality Inspection > inspection lot Creation > Default values for inspection types> anyinspection type > inspection lot completion tab > Quality score procedure.
4) If you want to use quality score procedures that access the weighted shares of defects for the characteristics, you must maintain the characteristic weights.
SPRO > QM>quality Planning >Basic data> Inspection characteristic > define characteristic weighing > weight factor
If you want to use quality score procedures that access the quality score of the characteristics, you must maintain the defect classes.
SPRO > QM>quality Planning >Basic data>Catalog> Define defect class
If you want to use quality score procedures, in which the system calculates the share of scrap, you must:For this a) scrap share have been defined in Customizing .b)Assign suitable procedures for estimating the scrap share to the characteristics in the task list c)Identify inspection characteristics as relevant for scrap in their control indicators.
hope this helps
Inspection point
1 ) These are used for multiple result recording
If you have scenario where in you have to check parameter every 2 hours or after production of 10 quantities, in these cases inspection point plays an important role. It helps in recording all the time wise quantity wise datas
2) For test equipment calibration you have to use inspection point and that is 300
3) In 03 inspection you can use inspection point to do partial confirmation of the production order.
Hope this gives some idea
