Hello,
We are running SAP ECC 6.0 on a HP-UX IA64 system with a Oracle 10.2 database.
My system administrator asked me if it is possible to put the Oracle database files on a NFS file system.
Is this recommended and what are the advantages and disadvantages to do so.
Is this allowed/ recommended by SAP to put the Oracle database on a NFS mounted file system?
Thanks for the information
Kind regards,
Richard Meijn
I personally would never put a database (the data files) on an NFS filesystem. There are approaches (using Adaptive Computing) for doing so but our experiences showed that the performance will decrease dramatically.
If you want some kind of "remote storage" I'd more go for iSCSI.
