Upgrade to ECC5.0 IDES

Presently we are having SAP R/3 4.7 SR1 IDES Version. We want to upgrade the system to ECC 5.0 IDES. I am wondering if we can upgrade the IDES version like a normal non IDES system. Do I need to follow different upgrade document for the IDES? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

HI,

I do not believe that it is possible to upgrade an IDES system. After all you will not get the new content of the next release if you do a technical upgrade so it defeats most of the purpose of the upgrade if the new updated content is not available.
