Characteristics results cannot be recorded for inspection lot........

Hi Experts,

I have created inspection plan for a material with two group counters.The status of inspction lot for this material is "crtd chcr sprq".While doing results recording am getting message "Characteristics results cannot be recorded for inspection lot",also not able to continue.So how to solve this problem. If there is two group counters for inspection plan, which group conter will be considered to generate inspection lot.Pls guide on this.......

hi

if there are two group counters, no plan will be attached to inspection lot. you have to attach it manually in QA02 transaction (insp specification tab). Select the required plan & save the changes.

Then check the status of inspection lot as REL.

hi

no way to automate, as system does not understand which one to pick if there are multiple plans for one material.

only way is to maintain single plan and have inspection setup checked with automatic assignment of characteristics.

Go to QA02, against that particular Insp. Lot, go to Insp. Spec. Tab and click on Insp. Plan Button.

Select anyone suitable Group Counter of the Insp. Plan.

Goto Sample Tab, click on Calculate Sample Size Button and Save the Transaction.

Now the Lot status should be changed to "REL" and hence you can do the Results Recording and UD.
