How could I import the WebDynproJ App into EP70 from another NWDI server?

Hi all,

I've the scenario to import the WebDynproJ App into EP70 from another NWDI server. The NWDI is based on AS 640. I tried to create an iView in the portal content but found no place to import WebDynproJ App from other system. I created the system aliase. Until now, I still haven't found any correct guideline to achieve this.

Could anyone tell me the right way to achieve this?

Thanks.

HI Satya,

Thanks for your response.

I read the notes. You mean I must do the JDI relocation work?

The NWDI is only the development envirnment. But the portal will be the final working place where the end-user will get. I'm not going to reloacate the JDI. I just want to access the WebDynpro in NWDI from EP70. For EP60, there's one guideline which tells how to configure WebDynpro in one system to another Portal syste through constructing the system aliance. In EP70, this becomes unreachable?

Whatever, thank you very much. I'm expecting further help from your side.

Thanks.

Try it this way:

Go to:

Portal Content --> New iView --> iView Template

Choose following template from template list: "SAP Web Dynpro Java iView (Remotely Deployed Application)"

This template allows you to create a local iView that runs a remote Web Dynpro Java application deployed on a different server.

Choose the remote portal to which the remote Web Dynpro Java application has been deployed. The server will appear in the list identified by its system alias (Before this you will have to create system and system alias in your portal for this system containing you webdynpro app).

On the next screen provide name and ID for your iView and continue...

HI Jawalekar,

Thank you very much. I find the right way.

But, now, I still have another problem about how to create the system alias.

The NWDI is a solo NWDI server. I'm wondering what kind of template to choose to create the alias.I created one with template "SAP system with load balancing". I just configurated the AS information. When I did "connection test", I got results as followwed:

SAP Web AS Connection

Test Details:

The test consists of the following steps:

1. Checks the validity of system ID in the system object.

2. Checks if the system can be retrieved from the PCD.

3. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object

4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name

5. Checks if the host name of the server can be resolved.

6. Pings the server to see if it is alive.

7. Pings the WAS ping service; works only if the service is activated on the ABAP WAS.

8. Checks HTTP/S connectivity to the defined back-end application

Results

1. The system ID is valid

2. The system was retrieved.

3. The system object represents an SAP system

4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (NWDI:50000)

5. The host name NWDI was resolved successfully.

6. The server NWDI was pinged successfully.

7. The Web AS ping service http://NWDI:50000/sap/bc/ping was not pinged successfully. If the ping service is not activated on the Web AS, you can try to call the ping service manually.

8. An HTTP/S connection to http://NWDI:50000 was obtained successfully.

Test Connection with Connector

Test Details:

The test consists of the following steps:

1. Retrieve the default alias of the system

2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object

Results

Retrieval of default alias successful

Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly

Will this make some difference or I should choose other template? If so, could you please tell me the details.

Thanks.

Have you configured SSO between the remote system and your portal ?

Check this SDN wiki for tips: https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/SSO%2CConfigurationSteps

If you do a search on SDN you'll find everything about SSO, the steps etc.
