tranport issue

Hi Experts,

I have 2 issues regarding tranports.

1. Iam not able to getting half load truck and full load truck to do the tranport .

2. i tried to do tranport from OS level but i was success to do add the tranport request to the buffer but import is not possible.

Please provide the command for import.

I tried below command.

tp import <tr> <sid> client=100 pf=e:\usr\sap\trans\bin\tp_domain_vmp.pfl

Please help me on above 2 issues.

What is "not possible"? you get an error messages?

On the screen of STMS_IMPORT, are you getting a field "Set Target Client" ?

Ok Asif

Then you probably getting some Transport Request with RED status for that field.

Click on those request one by one and then set "Target client" for them. You should get the truck once again.

If this does not solve your problem, please upload the screenshot from STMS_IMPORT

Is this system a copy? It seems that your TMS is not properly set up.

1.i add to the tranport request to the buffer with below command code.

2.after this i have tried to import into VMP. it is showing error.

Go to STMS->Overview->systems->Double Click on the system you have installed->Check the "Transport Tools" tab

Also let us know how did you configure your STMS. Paste the details from Transport Tool here. Also provide your DBHOST name, tr directory etc...

Did you update the config after configuring STMS?

are you trying to create your new system as domain controller? was it a domain controller earlier? what you did system copy ? Database refresh?

Did you try to create it as Single system earlier?

Hi,

Domain controller already has been created. i have not done any system copym or dbcopy .Previously iam able to do all the tranports from DEV 100 to DEV 300. Now iam not able to do the tranport.

This is r3trans version 6.14 (release 700 - 28.11.06 - 18:05:00).

unicode enabled version

r3trans finished (0000).

Check your TRBAT and TRJOB table. which TR nunber it is caontaining?

Did you manually terminate any transport ?

Did you check if TRBAT and TRJOB containing any entries? If yes, delete those from Sm30 and save.

Then try to import the request once again and check which entry is getting populated in the TRBAT table.

If TRBAT contains the same request number which you are trying to import then that request should be processed provided no other errors are there.

If that does not solve your purpose please let us know. Also let us know from where to where you are transporting.

I found one issue here.

IN tp tool parameter:

VMD(development server ) two system land scape

TRANSDIR:
BLRSAP001\SAPMNT\TRANS(E:\usr\sap\trans)

VMP(production server)(domain controller)

TRANSDIR:
BLRSAP002\SAPMNT\TRANS(F:\USR\SAP\TRANS)

if i change any thing in VMD it will distributing to VMP for this reasson only the transport request still running in VMD.

Please provide any solution .

Don't change things on the filesystem level, logon to the domain controller in client 000, start transaction STMS and do the changes there.

but what ever changes iam doing that is distributed to another system also.

I dont think that is a problem. It seems that you are using different transport groups and one domain controller. In that case transport directory will be diffenrent.

Yes - that is expected. I still don't get your problem.

If you import on VMP you need to do this on VMP and vice versa.

hi Anindya,

The problem is resolved after i deleted in the table TRJOB in SM30 . for every tranport iam doing like this only becuase it is taking so much time. No background jobs are running.

It's very difficult to suggest something, you're "jumping" from one topic to the next

I would sort the files in your transport log and tmp directory and check them for possible errors. There may still be an R3trans or tp running from a previous transport "blocking" the logfiles.

I have done hundreds of system copies and I never needed to truncate transport logfiles or tables.
