hi,
1. do we need to use visual composer for configuring java proxy runtime in PI 7.1.
our basis team installed pi 7.1 and nwa, and i need to inform them if we need visual composer tool.
2. for what all purposes we need visual composer as far as PI work point of view.
thanks,
Madhu.
Hi
I think you wrongly mistaken Visual Composer instead of Visual Administrator.
In PI 7.1 Visual Administrator is called as Netweaver Administrator where you can deploy adapter module, proxy and jdbc drivers.

Ok
Visual Admin was used till XI 3.0 extensively for all admin related activities on XI server. PI 7.0 brought in NetWeaver Administrator option to handle all Visual Admin capabilities but Visual admin was also fully operational. With PI 7.1, SAP is emphasizing to use NetWeaver Administrator instead of Visual Admin to have a single point of Administration and Monitoring further.

Normally you can deploy the EAR file in the Visual Administrator tool or with the Software Deployment Manager (SDM).

just tobe crystal clear..
Visual administrator cannot be used with PI 7.1, as nwa can do all its tasks..
or
Visual administrator can be used with PI7.1, but SAP recommends to use NWA to do all those tasks.
sorry for the previous post.
Actually NWA (http://host:port/nwa) is for basic adminstration which is replacing visual admin and can be used for all adminstration level work, from user managenet to JCO destinations, system databases and SOA management.

Hi!
Visual Composer is used in the SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 to create user interfaces. Visula Composer in general is used to create user interfaces.
Thus in a pure PI 7.1 environment you will never need Visual Composer.
