System Copy Export directory empty

I am attempting a System Copy export on a Java only NWDI system running NW700 and SQL2005.

System copy completes without error but the export directory only contains a LABELIDX.ASC file and not the expected JAVA directory.

Another posting here at SDN indicated SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME needed to be set and I did so but it made no difference.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi,

PLease check the directory that you used for the export.

Before starting the export you should create the diectory in which you want to have the export and have all the option.

Please check the option that you selected during the system copy export.

Please post the sapinst logs so thet we can have more light on it.

Please check that you used the same Release DVD for System with which you installed the system

Dear Bill,

SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME is only used incase of a virtual hostname like in cluster environment. Is your system in cluster environment?

In which location you are trying to take the export dump? Does it have the write access for user root and sidadm? When you are running SAPInst are you able to browse the export path properly?

Also please let me know the steps in brief you are trying to perform for the systemcopy.
