hi,

you can miigrate a sapscript to a smartform (option in smartform).

But the only thing that is done is a copy of the page definition and a copy of the windows definition.

So after doing that you have a smartform with pages and windows on the same position as in your sapscript.

However. the windows are completely empty.

The print program you used for the sapscript is almost useless.

So you have to define all windows elements, texts, fields, tables, templates, etc in your smartforms.

Besides that you have to develop a new printprogram.

(for the printprogramm you can decide to deliver all the data to be printed in one (or more) complex itab.

or an easy itab and let the smartform get all the data (or a form between)

Customers are not interested if there forms are made by sapscript, smartform or adobe. They are only interested in a perfect form. Not in the technology behind it.

Hope this helps. If you need additional info let me know.

Hi Ramkhe,

When migrating a SAPscript form into a Smart Form or Smart Style, the system executes the following steps:

1. Copies the language attributes and the output options

u201CHow to Develop Smart Forms,u201D by Rajen Iyer, CPIM, PMP, SAP America, Inc page 2

2. Migrates the layout information including pages and windows, as well as their attributes and positions on the page

3. Copies the texts in the form

4. Displays the fields (SAPscript notation: program symbols) in the texts

5. Converts the SAPscript commands (such as NEW-PAGE or IF...ENDIF) to comment lines and displays them in the texts

Hope this will clear your doubt.

Have a nice day a head,

Pavan.

Hi,

The main difference is that in SAPscript the table processing is in the print program, whereas in Smartforms it is in the form. So this clearly is not created in the smartform.

Have a search on the forums, the topic of migrating SAPscript to Smartform has been dicussed before.

Regards,

Nick
