I have a Solution Manager 7 installed on a Windows 2003 Server. When I try to do the initial configuration its give me an error saying icm/host_name_full not set correctly. So when I try to set it in the Instance profile by going to RZ10 there are no profiles at all.

How can I create thies profile? why it is not exists? Please help me on thi sissue.

Thank you very much for the answers, both were helpful for me. But still I'm having issues, I import all 3 profiles but in all 3 it says there are parameter errors. So under extended maintenance its sows many red lines. E.g in defaults it says j2ee/dbname changes not permitted.. and so on. What whould I do?

It is perfectly normal to have j2ee and jstartup errors while checking profile parameters. These errors you can safely ignore. But if you have any other type of error then you should investigate further.

Do you mind if I ask you one more question? Now I have done the profile import, But I'm kind of lost what are the next steps I have to take to configure my Solution Manager Server. Can you tell me what would be the next few steps of configuring the solman.

I have gone through the SolMan installation guide post config steps but most of them are not that clear to me. Please help me on this.

Now you should proceed with:

Configuration Guide SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP 1 (if this is your release)

Well in that case I think you should start with:

Configuration Guide SAP Solution Manager as of SP15 (All guides are located at: http://service.sap.com/instguides)

http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000673252&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_O...

Thanura,

After installation, profiles are available into \usr\sap\DEV\SYS\profile directory. You need to import into database as suggested by RZ10.

Hope this helps.

Have you done this RZ10 -> Utilities -> Import profiles -> Of active servers ?

I'm new Basis, so could you please tell me the procedure to do it? I tried to do the import but does do good to me, as it was leading again to create profile.

Thank You
