Web Dynpro/NW Mobile 7.1 communicating through SAP Web Dispatcher

Hi all,

Our Network Security team is concerned connecting directly to the organization's network using http/https through Web Dynpro Applications or through NW Mobile 7.1 (synchronization). They suggested to use the SAP Web Dispatcher.

Is it possible to use SAP Web Dispatcher for Web Dynpro applications to connect to the SAP backend and is SAP Web Dispatcher able to receive synchronization requests and forward it to NW Mobile (and vice versus)?

Is there some documentation about establishing communication through SAP Web Dispatcher for Web Dynpro and NW Mobile 7.1?

Hi,

Please check this link for info on webdispatcher though I couldnt find anywhere specific to how to use in the context of netweaver mobile 7.1

The recommendations says "The SAP Web dispatcher is recommended when you use an SAP system with several SAP NW AS instances for Web applications".

Check out the section "SAP Web Dispatcher as a URL Filter" as your plans to use webdispatcher is more for security reasons.

If we try to apply this in the context of mobile, the mobile client 7.1 syncs via http connection to DOE server and the if you apply the url filter here, the requests are accepted or rejected by the SAP Web dispatcher depending on their URL.
