Recovery of xbackup-backup not possible

Former Member
0 Kudos

I need to restore an old SAP DB 7.5 tape backup, made with xbackup utility on live database. This is something I done a few times before.

Now, I'm getting the error message "Host file I/O error, invalid tape blocksize" after DBMGUI or DBMCLI start to read the tape with the backup. I already tried to change the "block size" parameter of backup media.

Any help available?

Kind regards,

Zoran

Hi Zoran,

Any log files available?

With what blocksize was the backup created?

P.S.

I just took over your SUPPORT MESSAGE for that question.

So let's discuss the issue there.
