Hi guys,
What is the difference in registering with datapool and registering with global registry ?
I know that global registry follows standards, is their anything other than that.
Is loading data from supplier to source datapool mean registering at datapool.
Thanks & Regards,
MSReddy
Hi,
As per my understanding, Global registry sits on the head of Datapool in organization hierarchy. All the Data pools register there items with the Global registry. But Global registry stores only a certain set of global fields for any item, and not the local data.
Regarding the second question, when you load data to datapool, it absolutely means that you are registering your items with the datapool.

Dheeraj.

Hi Dheeraj,
Thanks for your answer, but i think a slight correction is necessary to your point according to my knowledge .
Found this point after posting the question.
Its not manadatory that all datapools register their items in Global Registry. It is up to the supplier to decide whether or not to participate in global registration. However this decision must be conveyed to the source data pool, who futher sends the item to Global Registry.
Thanks,
MS Reddy
