Hello,

while installing the Java Add-In for an existing SAP system, during

installation of the SCS, the following error occurs:

ERROR 2009-07-28 17:50:10.730

CJS-00030 Assertion failed: in getMsPort() rdisp/msserv_no not possible.

You need a newer message server.

was executed with status ERROR ( Last error reported by the step :CaughtESAPinstException in Modulecall: in getMsPort() rdisp/msserv_no not

possible. You need a newer message server..).

We use the latest kernel, sapinst and control.xml. We are on AIX5.3, Oracle 10.2.0.2 and ERP6.0.

I know there are threads around and i checked them, but found no acceptable solution.

Any help appreciated

Hi,

Check if the TCP port that you chose for the SCS message server is not already used by another application.

Hello Oliver,

that was not the problem, but brought me on the right way.

I interpreted the documentation wrong, after i made the following settings it was solved:

/etc/services

sapms<SID> 3600/tcp

DEFAULT.PFL

rdisp/msserv = sapms<SID>

rdisp/msserv_internal = 13900

Before i had also made entries in the instance profile and they were wrong. There is also the functionmodule MS_GET_PROFILE_VALUE within the system to check the value of rdisp/msserv_no.

Thanks

Christian
