Can SAP portals run on SQL server 2008 with database encryption enabled?

Hi All,

Can any one confirm that SAP-HR & SAP-BW are capable of running on top of SQLServer 2008 with database encryption enabled? The Enterprise portal presumably also needs a db structure in which to store configurations etc - can this too be SQLServer?

Regards,

Meenakshi

Read

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/mss

--> SQL Server 2008 Technologies for SAP Solutions

It contains a section about TDE - and it being transparent to the application, so yes, it works.

I would though HIGHLY recommend no more installing dual stack instances, if you check the recommended ways to setup landscapes in https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/landscapedesign you'll see, that especially the BI-Java part should be installed separately. May be the same physical box but a different SID.

You'll avoid a lot of additional work if you do not use DualStack.
