what is the role of macro in dp? how many they are? how it works in dp?where?
Hi Anusha,
1) Role of Macro in DP
The role of macro in DP is to perform complex calculations quickly and easily.
The calculations can be performed within few seconds/minutes inside the
planning book within the planning area of DP.
Macros are executed either directly by the user in interactive planning or automatically at a predefined point in time during a background job.
The definition of macros is optional.
2) How many they are?
Macros can be of two types. SAP defined Standard macros and custom written macros.
Macros can be accessed using transaction /sapapo/advm. All macros (both standard
and custom) are available in SAP Macro Workbench.
In Macro workbench, the DP standard macros are named under the column
APO application with user name as SAP.
3) How it works in DP and where?
Macros work in interactive planning book upon execution by user.
These macros also can be made executed through background jobs.
You can perform various operations in macro like mathematical operations
and functions, statistical functions, logical functions, date functions, Planning
table functions etc.,
Hope all your questions are clarified.
