What can and cant do with VC ?

Im introducing into Sap Netweaver 2004, Im a developer that allways used R/3 I had never seen BSP, BC, JAVA or Webdynpro, but yes some OOP.

I had readed the features, for example that u dont need to code anything, that it's a very visual and intuitive, and that use MVC. But I was wondering in simples words what CAN and CAN'T do with this tools because I suppose that has some kind of limitations.

Anyway, I thougt that was a good idea start with this tools, to get use to the enviroment of Netweaver 2004, EP6, etc.

That's why I want to know what kind of programs I can create with this Tool.

I think that he wanna know the limitations of the data.

From what I know (which isnt much) the VC connected to a R/3 system only gets the data trought BAPIs and RFCs.

So... if u wanna get data from a Z table or if u dont have any BAPI or RFC that works for your search. I suppose that u will have to create the BAPI or the RFC in the R/3 system.

If this is correct I really dont know HOW to accomplish that.

You can also connect with SAP Query against R/3 systems. In addition there are also JDBC, XMLA and ODBO connectors available, with VC04s SPS8 also WebServices.

If you run BW/BI, you also can get the queries there.
