Hi,
I have inserted trace messages in my Web Dynpro DC (in controller and view's implementations).
The sample trace statement is as below :-
Note that I have used the default logger object provided by Web Dynpro Framework. Like this :-
public class TestView
{
/**
* Logging location.
*/
private static final com.sap.tc.logging.Location logger =
com.sap.tc.logging.Location.getLocation(TestView.class);
static
{
//@@begin id
String id = "$Id$";
//@@end
com.sap.tc.logging.Location.getLocation("ID.com.sap.tc.webdynpro").infoT(id);
}
And this is what I added in methods :-
// At start of method
if(logger.beDebug()){
logger.pathT(ENTERING + METHOD_NAME);
}
/*
*
* Method Body
*
*/
//Just before exiting from method
if(logger.beDebug()){
logger.pathT(EXITING + METHOD_NAME);
}
Now I need value of following parameters / terms so as to complete the documentation of this Tracing facility:-
1. Output Source for Location and Category - ?
2. Output Destination for Location and Category - ?
Can you guys suggest how do I get it?
I have read that Location is what we use for Tracing purpose and Category is used for Logging purpose. For the time being, I just want to implement Tracing APIs.
Thanks and regards,
Amey Mogare
I am closing this question because of no replies.
But one thing I found out is that:-
1. Output source for location can be package name of your application(e.g. com.vendor.applicationname.*)
2. Output Destination for Location and Category - It can be entered by the administrator while debugging by making some change at system level
