Hi,

Due to the hardware problems our Development system got crashed and hence we need to restore the SAP

onto the new hardware. But unfortunately we have only the online backup.

The system SID, Database SID everything will be the same as old system.

Can any advise on the restore & recovery methods with the online backup.

Thanks & Regards,

DVRK

No problem - you can do a normal restore and apply the redo logs - just as if you were on the same machine.

Thanks for the advises. We have applied archive logs to the online backup to that date.

Hi DVRK,

Yes, of course you can recover the data from the online backup provided you have the arhives generated during the backup intact.

If you have used BRBACKUP to backup the data, you can use BRRESTORE to restore them and then recover the archive logs at the database level.
