hi,
how to set fixed & dynamic pegging in PP/DS. advantages & disadvatages of fixed and dynamic pegging. if possible please explain with example scenario.
Hi,
Fixed and dynamic pegging will be defined in APO material master
in "Demand" Tab.
Fixed
Advantages:-
1) Used highly in batch management scenarios.
2) Used in customer prioritised receipts.
Disadvantages:-
1) Once pegging is set, it is difficult to remove it for next run
2) Deallocation of pegged receipts automatically later is difficult
Dynamic
Advantages:-
1) Widely used field
2) Used in make to stock scenarios
3) Used in shelf life scenarios.
Disadvantages:-
1) Using this, customer priorisation is difficult
2) Batch specific allocation cannot be met
Scenario:- For eg, if there are two demands D1 and D2, and
if two receipts generated R1 and R2, then D1 will get pegged only
to R1 & D2 gets pegged to R2 in case of fixed pegging. Whereas
in case of dynamic pegging, D1 can be pegged to R2 and vice versa.
Hope it is clear now.
