JAVA_HOME Error

Hi Friends,

I am trying to install SAP Sol Mgr 4.0 SR2 on Win 2003 Enterprise Edition.

Prerequisites check error -

Condition - JAVA_HOME

RESULT CODE - COuld not Check

Severity - HIGH

Message - It is not recommendedto use JDK version 1.4.2_10. Current version: JAVA_HOME not available. See also SAP note 867110 (updated 2006-06-12)

I installed Java - j2sdk-1_4_2_17-windows-amd64.exe and also I added the JAVA_HOME variable.

Let me know what should be done. Shall I ignore and proceed with installation.

Hi,

After installing j2sdk-1_4_2_17 are you still getting the error.

Check PAM and install the supported version of Java.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried j2sdk1.4.2_13-x64, j2sdk1.4.2_17-x64 and j2sdk1.4.2_21-x64

Same issue with all of them. I can see the java version in command prompt.

I also maintained the JAVA_HOME variable and value.

I tried to find out in www.service.sap.com/pam. It says - SUN JSE 1.4.2 64BIT WINDOWS SERVER 2003/X64 64BIT Released 26.05.2006. But I installed the same version I guess.

Please help me to get rid of this error.

Try with JDK version 1.4.2_08 from http://java.sun.com.

Hi,

In Initial error log: The SAP note 867110 metions that:

You need to download the JDK version 1.4.2_08 from http://java.sun.com.

Please check with this version.

I downloaded the 08 version and tried to install but it is not supported by my processor (intel xeon). Any other suggestions??

I tried all possible ways but still the error was showing up in prerequisites check. I ignored and coninued with installation and it was successful with no errors.
