Hi All,
What is the fucntionality of Pricing update and Pricing Index in SAP.
Regards
Nidhi
Pricing Update is just to give an idea about Pricing Types like suppose in Copy Control from Quotation to Sales Order , you just want to have Pricing Components & the Taxes should be re-determined in the Sales Order ,then maintain "G" in the Copy Control.
Otherwise after creating Sales Order , you have done some Changes in the Condition Record for Pricing then go to VA02 > Item Conditions > Update > "B" carry Out New Pricing. It will update the New Pricing in the Sales Order as per the Condition Record.

Hi
I hope your question is about condition update and condition index. If yes then
Condition Update controls whether limit values are relevant for pricing. the limits can be set at Maximum condition value, Max.number.of.orders and Max.cond.base value. so whenever the sales order is created the system will check the limits set and act accordingly.
E.g.: you can create a condition record for K007 and go to additional data screen(F7) and maintian like this (For this first the condition update check box should be activated in K007 condition type)
Max no of orders = 3 for a discount condition type K007 in vk11 by .
then the discount is applicable only for the first 3 orders and the next orders will not have this discount.
Conditio Index is used to maintain condition records indepently of condition type and condition table and we can list all the condition records of a particular condition type in a pricing report function.
Hope this helps you.

Hi Nidhi,
Pricing update is used to update pricing in sales order or billing manually.
For example, when you make some change with some field in sales order, system would not
trigger a pricing update as you expected, so in this case, you could make use of pricing update.
Please refer to note 24832 for the meaning of different pricing types.

Alex
