I have a question.
Before executing the t code solman_setup in ehp1 do we need to connect our solman to the satellite systems?

But it is setting up some diagonostic settings also in the basic conf and right now we dont want that.. could we skip that?
Sure, but you should really consider implementing diagnostics.
You need it for Root Cause Analysis, which is required for the delivery of SAP Standard Support Services.

I'd advise to run it without connected systems.
Just so you know your initial setup is correct.
We can skip the step solman_setup and start doing the activities right away.
Or just to check the initial setup is correct we will run it but only till initial set up not the other steps?

I would advise to run the complete transaction, it doesn't take a lot of time.
