Hello,

in case you are using Safari, this browser seems to treat ftp in a special way and for this particular url, it also fails for me.

It should open in FireFox for example though.

But, the download via anonymous ftp is discontinued, see ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/java/README.htm .

Goto the SDN links provided earlier in this thread.

Thank You Rolf-Martin.

But still I couldn't download the GUI from the download page. It is asking for the authorization username and password.

Still stuck on same place where I was. Did open the page with Fire Fox but no success on downloading the GUI File.

Need more help please.

Thanx.

Hello,

I did not write "menu". In the middle column of the screen, there is some text with various sections.

Or use

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/sap-gui#section6 for Installation

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/sap-gui#section26 for Downloads

Hi Rolf,

Click on New. Enter a description.

Click on the Advanced tab. Select Expert Mode.

Type a string in there like this:

conn=/H/10.11.12.13/S/3200

You can see that after the /H/ is the host and after the /S/ is the system. If the system number was 06 it would be 3206.

From the help:

Example for a connection to an SAP system with the connection string /H/iwdf8997.wdf.sap-ag.de/S/3200:

conn=/H/iwdf8997.wdf.sap-ag.de/S/3200

Example for the same SAP system, with automatic logon (user guest, password secret) and a start transaction (BIBS):

conn=/H/iwdf8997.wdf.sap-ag.de/S/3200&user=guest&pass=secret&tran=BIBS

I have downloaded the zipped file "PlatinGUIMasx_3-10006059"

After unzipping I have a folder full of JAR files.

How I am supposed to install the SAPGUI for MAC with this?

The instructions did not help me.

Any ideas?

Hello,

do not unzip the archive, double click the jar file you downloaded.

Alternatively, launch the jar file with java -jar PlatinGUI....jar from the terminal command line.

Best regards

Rolf-Martin

P.S: which instructions do you refer to? Where would you have expected to find the required information?

Rolf,

The downloaded file comes in as a ZIP file ... not a jar. When I double click on the ZIP file is just decompresses and becomes a folder filled with assorted jars and folders, which I cannot installed.

Rolf,

Problem solved. The file now downloaded with the .jar extension instead of a .zip extension.

Everything ran properly. Sorry for bothering you.

Hello,

when I download both directly and using download manager, the fle I get is PlatinGUIMaX_3-10006059.JAR .

I do not understand, why it is a zip file in your case.

For now as a workaround, please rename it to .jar.

But where and how do you download it?

Best regards
