SNP: Changing means of transport depending on the shipping date

Hi experts;

I have 2 means of means of transport maintained in my transportation lane for all products.

The first one Truck should be only valid on Monday, tuesday, wednesday every week

(I have create transport calendar 1 and assigned to the mean of transport truck)

The second one Rail should be only valid from Thursday and Friday.

(I have created transport calendar 2 and assigned to mean of transport Rail)

However in SNP the orders generated after location heuristic are always taking into account the first mean of transport and never the second one.

The orders are never created on Thursday and Ftriday.

Please could you help me to set up both means of transport valid for all products but at different date??

Hi Esterleen,

Could you recheck the assignment of products against the means of transport.

Also, are you still using "All products" or removed? As I informed earlier,

if you maintain all products, the products will be assigned to both the means of

transports and you will not get favourable results.

Is there any common products which are coming under both means of

transport? If it is so, you need to clearly bifurcate those and assign only

single means of transport.

Also try checking by applying transportation costs (wherever product

based lanes are more than one) to differentiate both the means of transport

and then retry.

Hi Senthil Mareeswaran.

Yes I have checked the assignment of products against means of transport. I am working with a detailed list of product and I assigned each product to one of the means of transport. Each product is assigned to one mean only. Unfortunatey it did not work.

I heard that it is working well with optimiser but we are not allowed to use optimiser

Hi Esterleen,

You create two different transportation calender as per your

requirements and assign it to two different means of transport

in the transportation lane.

Once it is done, maintain the Product-Specific Means of

Transport by selecting the products which goes into the

lane.

I suggest if you could maintain specific products against

the means of product rather than "all products", this

works better.

Many thanks for your answer, I have tried to do exactely what you have described,

When I create manually distribution receipt planned in SNP it is working, however when I run SNP heuristic (location) either interactive or in the background, it creates distribution receipt planned only for one mean of transport (the second one is always ignored)

I can't find out where the problem comes from,

should you have any idea it would be really helpful,
