SSL-Publickey adding into xiisuser user certificate list?

Hi Team,

I was implementing client pubkey SSL certificate in PI system to support SSL for one of our SOAP based communication.

As usually, i imported the certificate into "Certificates and Keys" using NWA but we had continuesly got below error inspaite of couple times CPA cache refresh.

"The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Basic realm="XISOAPApps"'. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized."

Upon, adding the same SSL-Publickey for "xiisuser" certificates list...the scenario started working successfully.

So, experts please explain the purpose of adding the certficate to this user?

Any supporting document explaining the same would greatly helpful to understand better.
