Error with mail adapter

Former Member

Hi,

I am trying to send a mail from XI.

I get the following error in the adapter monitoring:

error occured: [2006-05-04T01:10:43Z] unable to call the mailer; com.sap.aii.messaging.srt.BubbleException: Failed to call the endpoint [null "null"]; nested exception caused by: java.io.IOException: server not responding OK to AUTH; 535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful.

Is it some thing to do with the mail server settings.

Regards,

Vijay

Hi Vijay,

In the reciever mail adpater configuration, you might be unchecked the Anonymous login. just check that and give the correct user name and password which belongs to the mail server.

I am passing the user ID of my sap system on which the mail server is loaded!... Do we need to have a separate ID on the mail server that we have to give ?

Vijay,

I faced similar problem. I used fully qualified user ID i.e. abc@xyz.com instead of just abc

It worked wonders for me.

Try ur luck.

Hi Praveen,

I am confused about the fully qualified user ID abc@xyz.com. Is this the mail id given in the user master data or do we have to create a new ID on the mail server, and what would the password be..is it the sap password or is it the mail password?

Vijay,

This the config of my receiver adapter.

Transport Protocol: SMTP

Msg protocol: XIPAYLOAD

Aapter Engine: Integration Server

<b>Connection parameters for Mail server</b>

URL: smtp://<IP address of the mail server>

Configure User Authentication: X (Check box is selected)

Authentication Method: Plain (from drop-down box)

User: praveen.sirupa@xyz.com

Password: (no password is mentioned)

The SMTP server is used as a mail server from which a mail is sento the recepient. XI requires a mail server because it doesnt have a mail server of its own.

Hope it is clear to u now.

Hey Praveen,

Giving the fully qualified mail id as user id and leaving the password field blank did the trick. Thats great. Good to get help from an ex R10 colleauge.

Thanks a ton.

Vijay.

Hi Vijayakanth,

In receiver mail adapter channel you would have checked the security/MIME check box. uncheck it and try ur scenario.

Hi,

BubbleException occurs when the prot u r trying to connect is wrong.just check whether the URL connectiong the mail sever is given correctly.

just check the connection parameters to the server whether it has been properly given, because the error has occured in the authentication part.

for further clarification chk out these links with same error
