Information on remote cube 3.x / 7.0

HI all,

I've got some questions about remote cube.

With NetWeaver04s we can connect a virtual provider directly to Datasource 7.0 with DTP (if Direct Access is allowed)

With BW 3.x we must select an infosource 3.x, and then create a remote cube based on that infosource.

-Is it correct that we cannot connect virtual provider directly to datasource 3.x ? (cannot change adapter to "synchronous Extraction SAPI")

-Anyone know if there's any difference, in term of performance, between 3.x and 04s remote Cube ?

Note :

We have chosen to migrate 3.x->7.0 only in a few month when all automatic process will be available.

sorry for the late answers:

--> yes this is correct. Due to the different DataSource concept In 3.X a InfoSource is needed.

Anyone know if there's any difference, in term of performance, between 3.x and 04s remote Cube?

--> yes, the 04s approach should be faster (only 1 transformation is necessary, generic coding is more efficient etc.)
