Problem in Extracting Kernel

hi,

I am extracting the kenel using command SAPCAR -xvf <file-name>, i m extracting .sar file

but system is showing me message that it can't recognize the command .I am extracting the file on a simple pc where no sap installation is there .Is this an issue ?

Hi Jase,

You are getting this error because the path where SAPCAR exists is not added to your system variable PATH.

either you set the path in PATH env variable or run the SAPCAR.exe from the folder itself.

you can get the sapcar.exe from /usr/sap/<instance>/exe folder.

If you're trying to uncar in your desktop make sure you use the 32-bit exe of SAPCAR. you can get this from /swdc quicklink.

Yes you need to have SAPCAR.EXE file to uncar those CAR files,just copy SAPCAR from any of the SAP system or download it and uncar
