Hi All,
Could you let me know the best procedure to transfer import maps from one system to another system?
What are the inputs required to trasfer import maps?
If suppose map is developed for xml file, should we need the exact xml file to login import manager for purpose of
transfering import maps?
Thanks,
Narendra

Hi Narendra,
You can export and Import maps as suggested above. But you need the file with same structure compared with the one used for creating that map. It is not necessary that you should have same number of fields in the new file as well. Basically, while importing the map, it will search for the field names in the new file for mapping (as per the map in System 1).
After importing the map, you will be asked to give a name to it.
After giving the name, you can open this map in import manager and work on it as per the requirement.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Dheeraj.

Hi Narendra
Export the maps from system 1 to save the .map and .syn files on your local machine. then import these maps in sytem 2 and save the maps using import manager. Before opening the import manager for system2 ensure that correct Remote system has been selected while login.

Hi Narendra,
The best practise or the only way to transfer Import maps is by using Import/Export option of Import Manager. It is not mandatory to have the same type of source. I tried with Excel and Delimited Text
