SMD installation req

Dear Gurus.

We have solution manger 7.0sr3. SP14 on windows 2003. Do I need to install

SMD seperatly or it will come when we install solution manager.

I am able to login to http://hostname:50000/smd. with j2ee_Admin userid.

But if i check in solution manger SMD folder it does not have any folders in that.

2) I installed smd agent in EP successfully. But not able to see this in http://hostname:50000/smd.

3) We have 2 application servers ECC 6.0 Do i need to install SMD agent here also and wat is the path for instllation.

4) My Production ep server is installed on MSCS. How to install agent in this.

5) In solution manager support packages i am not able to find LMservice support package.

Please clarify gurus.

Hi gurus please help me as i am new to SMD and AIX

i have 7.0 ehp1 solution manager which has been upgraded from its previous version

now i have to do the SMD & WILY INTERSCOPE installation on solution manage as well as on

Enterprise portal (netweaver 7.0 sps 14)

as i have seen on many forum that 7.0 ehp1 (sps 18) smd server get install by default when we install

solution manager

but in my case i have checked the following directory /USR/SAP/<DASID> that does not exsit on solution manager file system

so its mean the SMD server is not installed on solution manager

so do i have to first install the SMD server on solution manager then

2) wily enterprise manager on solution manager

3) SMD agent on Enterprise portal

is there any way by which we can see SMD server is working on AIX like windows

please clear this SMD server concept

You need to install SMD on the Monitored System (like ECC, EP...).

SMD is SOLMAN application where you can monitor your other systems in the landscape, You can view only as http://<solman host>:<Port>/smd

You need to install SMD agent on each physical host. You can choose your path during installation.

Dear Gurus.

I have installed Wily introscope manager 8.0 in solution manager and agent in EP development server.

But If I run the http://hostname:50000/smd

I am not able to see the solution name there. How to see the solution name there.

I created 3 solution names

1 for solution mananger

2 for ECC 6.0

3 for EP

I am able to see 1 and 2 but the EP servers solution names i am not able to see .

I configured AGent manully.

Installed Wily introscope automatically.

Can any body help me please

it is showing all the EP systsems. How to include this in SMD

Hi,

Have you added the EP server info in SMSY on Solution manager?...has SLD been configured?

Once the system has been added in SMSY, carry out SMD setup as below,

goto http:xxxxx/smd,

diagnostics setup->managed systems -> setup wizard

also carry out Introscope agent settings at,

diagnostics setup->managed systems -> Introscope Agent.

after adding the ep systems in smsy

it is now showing in SMD

i created 2 solutions in solution manager for EP and ECC 6.0

ECC 6.0 is shwoing but only abap it is not shwoing java

for EP solution is not showing in SMD.

Rao,

for EP,Do add the JAVA instance alone as relevant, in SMSY.

Also, for the Java instance-add the relevant software component. If its not present, you have to create in manually.

Hi Rao,

1) I know that when you do a new installation of SolMan, (SPS15) the SMD gets installed during the installation.

Prior to SPS15, not sure. But taking in the fact that your SMD folder is empty i reckon your SMD has not been installed yet.

Could you check the SAP MMC? There should be an instance there. (usually named SMD).

2) As I think you haven't installed SMD yet, you don't see it

3) As far as I know you need install an agent on every system, not on every physical machine. Wily agents have to be installed on every machine (when running VM, on every VM also).
