Upgrade error in phase IGS_INST (APO 3.1 to SCM 5.0)

Hi,

We are in process of upgrade of APO 3.1 to SCM 5.0 on windows & stuck at phase IGS_INST.

The ERROR is u201CThe Unpacking of c:\usr\sap\put\exe\IGSHELPER.SAR from c:\usr\sap\put\exe

to C:\usr\sap\APQ\SYS\exe\run failedu201D

The SAPCAR version is latest & The file IGSHELPER.SAR exist at the location c:\usr\sap\put\exe\

Also we have enough disk space & able to extract the same file using the same SAPCAR version.

Please suggest the solution.

hi,

i had the similar problem while upgrading NW04 - NW7.0 on AIX

in /usr/sap/put/log/CAR.SAV file, i found this:

SAPCAR: could not open for writing igs/data/gfwchart/22000.bmp (error 28). Permission denied

i checked all permissions on /usr/sap/DWD/DVEBMSG10/igs and i found old igs/data/gfwchart/*.bmp files with just read permissions for all.

i renamed whole igs/data directory

mv data data.old

restarted phase and everything was ok.

Hi Rajesh,

We are also getting similar error while doing and upgrade from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0

Just that our operating system is LINUX.

Did your problem get resolved?

I have tried to uncar the package manually and was able to do it successfully. But why it is not happening through Upgrade assistant,I am not understanding.

Please let me know the solution of you have it,urgently!!
