Delivery Grouping

Hello,

How is the outbound delivery grouping functionality supposed to work? I would like to give our central team the ability to group deliveries togther so that they are shipped together. How is this 'group' then used by the warehouse personnel in picking? Is it possible to make sure that one transfer order is created for all deliveries in one group? What is the best practice here?

Hi Bejoy

The grouping in deliveries can be configured on the basis of delivery types and based on processing activities such as Picking or good issue.

You can also insert any specific logic through the BADI for grouping.

So Picking group of deliveries can be maintained and transaction(VL06P) for the same can be given to a group of users using authorization.

if u have WM u can also maintian grouping for transfer orders in WM.

Generally shipments can have multiple deliveries and mostly based on the transporter, route and destination these are created.

You can also configure for background processing of goods issue and invoices during shipment processing.
