Hi Experts,
Is there any way to take the backup of the webdynpro ABAP component.As there is a patch upgarde in the server so its very important for me take a backup of the code an component.
Please suggest me some thing.

Normally this isn't really something an ABAP developer worrys about. If the system is going through a patch and there is a concern that the entire system might have problems, then an entire database backup should be performed. At worst if you are really worried and not trust your basis team (which would be a shame), you could release a transport of the component and it can always be reimported back into the same system after the patches if necessary. There is a tool called SAPlink that is mentioned in the referenced thread and it does allow the download of ABAP development objects in XML to your PC.
