Hi all,
I have to do Kernel Upgrade in MSCS environment.
Please suggest me how to do?
Regards,
shanker C
Perform the following steps(valid for MSCS windows 2003 Netweaver 7.0 onwards)
1. Stop all SAP instances and services including Cluster Services/Dialog Services/ERS Services and SMD services.
2. Take backup of K:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SYS\exe\NTAMD64 folder
3. Uncar SAPEXEDB.sar and SAPEXE.sar to a folder. Copy all files and copy paste to K:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SYS\exe\NTAMD64. Do not delete files and move kernel, only overwrite the files and folder inside the directory, keep intact the files which are not part of the kernel.
4. Change the files in the c:\windows\sapcluster folder the ones for which new version is available in the new kernel.
5. Bring up the all instances/services, the sapcpe.exe will copy over the required files from the central kernel folder to the required directories.

Hi,
>Please suggest me how to do?
Read the documentation, check your specific company needs and levels of service, prepare your strategy and operation phasing.
Then if you have specific questions, come back to the forums.
Of course if this is a production system, test the operation first on a testbed system.
