/sapmnt behaving strange in Production System

There's a very strnge thing I've observed in our Production R3 System.

The /sapmnt folder is 98% full .

After checking it out , I found out that 700JBLG folder contained job logs since 2006.

Hence , I schdeuled a report RSBTCDEL via se38 on background to delete job logs older than 30 days with FORCED MODE .

The problem now is , the entries in the folder 700JBLG still exist and is still 98% full WHERE AS I checked out the table TBTCO , the old entires have been deleted.

This is strange . Can someone please explain this to me and help me cleaning the 700JBLG directory.

I dont think above folder is SAP standard folder. So by scheduling reports it may not clean up the disk and may need to clean up manually.

Also refer to SAP note 16513.

Hi,

The standard folder is called <client>JOBLG.

If 700JBLG is not a typo, that may be the reason for no cleaning up.

The house keeping jobs are doing fine and are scheduled according to standard recomendations.

This problem has been since the last 2 weeks , So i don't think waiting for another day would sort the issue.

I guess it's time I raise a message with SAP regarding this issue.

what'd ya say...

Suggestions are welcome anywayz !!!!

Your/e right!!!

And Since it's the Production System i can't think of restarting now .

The problem now is the functional month end and year end activity is gonna begin in a few days.

Hence I expect performance problems if don clear the logs.

Pleas Suggest !!!!

Dear Pavan ,

restarting the system would refresh all the buffers , so i think it can be done. But restarting the system is not the final solution.
