MDM Standard Import maps

Experts,

I wanna confirm - When we use standard XML from ECC and the standard MDM repository, we can use the standard map out of the box ??

do we still need to generate the compound fields for the qualified tables and do we need to map the qualifiers and non qualifiers seperately ? Pl confirm.

Thanks and Regards,

Sravan

Hi Sravan,

As rightly explained in the earlier post, standard maps do not hold the value mappings.

Compound fields and clone fields are temporary fields created for value mapping purpose.

Hence inspite of using standard mappings, the compound field value mapping has to be done after mapping the qualifiers and the non qualifiers.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,

Hi

Creation of compound keys, partitioning etc has to be done manually after all value mapping is done for the individual fields mapped.

Hi Sravan,

compound fields usually require a valid value mapping in the import map. The Standard Maps do not contain any value mapping. The reason for that is quite simple: values can be different in customer systems, so SAP cannot forsee all the possible values. Before you use the standard maps for automated import, you should import at least once manually to ensure a valid value mapping.

Best regards
