Hi,
I want to create a simple file to file scenario, I want to take a word file and convert to zip with xi.
can someone give directions ?

I dont think word file can be processed,
Hey just think of real time process ,what is the need of processing word file through Middleware tool
Take some flatfile or XML file and start doing the same you can use standard module which can create the ZIP (check sap library)
