Employee Self-Service (mySAP ERP) on R/3 Enterprise 4.7

Hi,

Could anybody tell me whether we can implement Employee Self-Service (mySAP ERP 2004/2005) on R/3 Enterprise 4.7.

In the documentation of Business Package it mentions ERP 2005 is the primary back end system. Is it a must or with some workaround can we implement on R/3 Enterprise also.

Hi Chakradhara,

If u can use R3 4.7 as a bachand system for ESS and MSS running from portal. than u can use buisness package for ESS & MSS for SAP R3 4.7

MySAP ERP2004/2005 is also a R3 system with ECC 5.0/6.0

if u have any doubt revert me back.

and pls explain in breif what exactly u want to do?

As I know ESS for SAP R3 4.7 runs on ITS that is not as user freindly as WebDypro based ESS(mySAP ERP). So, we are thinking of implementing ESS(mySAP ERP) on R3 4.7 if possible.

For your information our portal is EP 6.0 that runs on NW in separate box.

Hi Chakradhara

all the Webdynpro application can call the RFC BAPI from bachand R3 system.

The Buisness apckage for ESS/MSS webdynpro application is compatiable with ERP2004/2005 system.

if u have implemented the ESS using WebDynpro u have to develop your own webdynpro application for ESS/MSS working on R3 4.7 enterprise.

there are no ready made BP available for ESS/MSS webdynpro working with R3 4.7

The short answer is no. You cannot use the new ESS / MSS BPs with the older backend.
