Installation scenarios of SAP PI 7.1

We have a SAP ECC 6.0 double stack system (EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01).

We would like to install SAP PI 7.1.

What are the prerequisities for the installation and which options can be choosed here?

a) new NetWeaver installation with SAP PI 7.1

b) Installation on top of SAP ECC 6.0 system

c) other scenarios

Any helpful information will be very appreciated!

Hi,

I am not sure what is your scenario is, but the option is you can install ECC along with PI7.0 however both the systems will have same instance number and you may have performance problems depending on your system hardware. ECC is suite of components with Netweaver where you can install ECC and select the PI too when selecting ABAP and JAVA stack for ECC. So that, you can install both ECC and PI in one box.

As mentioned above, I think you need to do a fresh installation of PI

Hi Holger,

I think you cannot install PI 7.1 on top of ECC 6.0. That you have to install seperately.
