Hi All,
We are facing problem with our growing file system size. Clients wants that we should make some archiving or log deletion strategy by which we can delete unwnated logs or archive useful logs so that file system will not go on increasing.
I searched lot on SMP and google..found some notes also on this..but i also want suggestion from all experts ...
Could you guys give me some suggestion on below poitns:
1) Which logs we can delete without any harm and what will be the deletion frequency ?
2) Which logs we need to archive and what is the archive frequency ?
If you can also provide me some links or notes that will be helpful.
Also, in most of the sytem we already set the trace event to Error only to reduce the trace files.
Thanks
Sunny

Hi Sunny,
1) all archive files are useful after full backup.
You can delete archive files before full offline backup.
2)You can take backup archive with -cds.
you can take archive backup(-cds) twice in a week (depends on ur requirement)
